My brother Chris and I made a couple quick stop motion videos on iPad one late night during xmas holiday. Fueled by some Bowmore single malt. Who knew it could take so much time to make 30 seconds of video? We threw some audio on it quickly and here you go….fun times.

Solo Record / Uncle Roman’s Jetboat / Etc.

I’ve been spending this winter doing some serious navel gazing in the studio on my own..and so far it’s been one of those times that the musical process has felt totally effortless. Partly it’s having a destination to go work in and finding a smooth workflow there – but the biggest part of it is simply staying the hell out of my own way and running with whatever surprises my subconscious brings into the studio each morning. No major struggles yet, knock on wood. Anyway, it’s all patched in, all I need is a cup of coffee and a flip of the switch. Love that.

All that said, this is going toward a solo album. I’m working toward a group of 20 songs before I make any decisions. Shoot first, ask questions later. I’m nearly 1/2 way there.

In Uncle Roman’s Jetboat news…mastering is done! Stoked. Out early 2012 on Don’t be a Lout!

Bugs and Dolls – the Latest iOS App from Monkey Prism!

Today marks the official release of yet another App by Monkey Prism…this one is called Bugs and Dolls. Combining beautifully-rendered drawings with engaging audio elements, this new app will surely be a hit with children of any age. Available now as a FREE download in Apple’s App Store (comes with the Animals level enabled), Bugs and Dolls features Monkey Prism favorite Nina Rouselle De Polonia back with her wonderful and vivid illustrations.

There was quite a larger bundle of sounds this time around, which presented more of a challenge, but it was definitely a fun one. I could sit around and record myself making alligator chomping and crow sounds 24/7. Well…maybe. Also, huge thanks to the additional voice help: My amazing parents, my niece Riley, my piano student Keagen Hansen, Mina Hansen, and my lovely housemate Julia Czech!

Don’t Be a Lout Music

Charles Larson and I have kicked off the new Don’t Be a Lout Music with the release of his debut solo album Adventures Down Avenues. It will be officially released, October 11th.

Don’t Be a Lout was created originally for our prior band The Kindness Kind, as a publishing company and label to release our music under. More releases to come…next up will be the Uncle Roman’s Jetboat EP. Excited.
